Bakers of Danbury Ltd
Specialising in conservation, restoration and alteration, we have long been associated with many of the region’s historic buildings, churches and ancient monuments. Bakers of Danbury was established over 140 years ago. Interestingly many of the methods used in church restoration and repair remain very similar to those used over a century ago.
We benefit from our in-house joinery and stone masonry workshops, together with a directly employed team of expert stonemasons, joiners, bricklayers, plasterers and carpenters, which is regularly supplemented with specialist sub-contractors including metal workers, stained glass specialists, architectural conservators and decorators.
Our highly skilled staff, many of whom have been with the company for over twenty years, are experienced in traditional construction methods that have been passed through generations since the founding of the company. This experience continues to be handed down to the younger generations today.
Recent projects have won the following prestigious awards; Considerate Contractor Scheme Awards 2022 (Gold Medal), King of Prussia EASA & National Churches Trust UK Architecture Awards (Highly Commended), Diocese of Chelmsford Design Awards 2022 (Highly Commended) and Greater Cambridge Design and Construction Awards 2022 (Commended).
