Houghtons of York
Houghtons of York are a well established family run business with a wealth of experience specialising in high quality architectural joinery and woodcarving for clients throughout the UK.
With workshops based at Dunnington on the outskirts of York city we directly employ a team of highly skilled crafstmen and use traditional methods and materials to produce a broad range of bespoke commissioned work.
Our works encompass new build, restoration, conservation, repairs and maintenance and we invite enquiries from York, North Yorkshire and nationwide, for work from Private Homeowners, Architects, Surveyors, The National Trust, English Heritage, Parish Churches and Cathedrals etc.
Houghtons of York have a well established history of work to many places of worship throughout the British Isles.
Our customary attention to detail has led to a wide range of commissions from the small, local parish church through to some of the countries most notable cathedrals such as St Pauls, Canterbury and Southwark, Westminster Abbey and York Minster.
Our works have included the manufacture of altar tables, lecturns, reredos screens, organ casings, aumbray, display cases and candlesticks through to the formation of entire new chapels and major re-ordering projects.
