DRU Centro 100 gas fire wins ‘Gas Appliance of the Year’ award at Hearth & Home 2014

DRU Fires has capped a successful return to the Hearth & Home fireplace trade show by winning ‘Gas Appliance of the Year’ with its revolutionary Centro 100 balanced flue gas fire.

The 1 metre wide Centro can be installed at floor level or raised up the wall. It offers a choice of realistic logs or grey coke fire beds, along with mirrored Ceraglass, smooth black, rib cast or chunky beam interiors.

The fire features a new Easy Release® swing door for routine cleaning and maintenance and a new Honeywell electronic remote control with thermostat and room temperature display.It has a unique dual burner system, which allows for flames on one or two levels, depending on the ambient temperature and the visual experience required.

The flame effect can be enhanced further by using the exclusive DRU Eco Wave app for tablets and smartphones. This enables the consumer to set their own individual flame picture using the touchscreen graphic display.The app also controls the heat output and gas consumption of the fire, allowing for enhanced efficiency and energy saving functionality.

Another important aspect of Eco Wave is that it stores data on the fire’s performance, service intervals and many other functions. This data can be automatically communicated to the local DRU dealer for further action as required.

Centro 100 has a generous 10.8 Kw heat output, is 80% energy efficient and is available in natural gas or LPG versions. It utilises the balanced flue system, which allows the fire to be installed anywhere in the home, regardless of whether there is an existing chimney.
