All Saints Church, North Moreton

altThis Grade 1 listed church dates from the 13th Century and is constructed from limestone, flint and oak. It is best known for the stained glass window in the St Nicholas or Stapleton chapel, which is among the earliest and finest in the country.

The four month contract, completed by Norman & Underwood, one of the UKs most established roofing, structural glazing and building conservation contractors, comprised structural repairs to the timber roof structures of the Chantry Chapel, the south aisle and the corner of the nave. Norman & Underwood also raised the valley gutter between the chancel and the chapel, adapting and modifying the rainwater goods, and rebuilt part of the east wall.

alt

Their experienced craftsmen completed the work using traditional skills and tools such as ‘Ads’, ‘bow saws’ and wood shavers.
