ICS Furniture completes chair installation in Belfast Cathedral
Also known as the Cathedral Church of St. Anne, Belfast Cathedral is a Church of Ireland Cathedral and is the focal point of Belfast's Cathedral Quarter. Their old seating was 120 years old and were not stackable. The church required a chair that allowed for the flexibility and comfort that the older seating did not provide.
Working with The Very Reverend Stephen Ford (Dean of the Cathedral) and his team ICS Furniture modified their ICON 40 chair with a custom stain to fit in beautifully with the Cathedral's internal design. All 300 chairs were engraved with the Cathedral's unique logo and were delivered in time for their celebrations. The Cathedral is celebrating the 120th Anniversary of its consecration this year.
To date, ICS have completed projects in 23 Cathedrals across Ireland, the UK and the US.
This year alone they added two more Cathedrals to that list- both the Cathedral of St John the Divine, New York and Belfast Cathedral. The stunning architecture both externally and internally, coupled with their heritage make these Cathedrals the focal point for the community and for visitors alike. It is always a huge honour to have the opportunity to complete projects in a Cathedral especially when it comes to their furniture and seating.
Gavin Duignan, MD of ICS Furniture, said: “May we take this opportunity to congratulate Reverend Ford, his team and the congregation on the 120th Anniversary of the Cathedral and thank them for choosing the ICON 40 chair and ICS Church Furniture."
