Knight Frank Scoops Scottish Natural Heritage Maintenance

Knight Frank’s building consultancy team has won a three year contract to manage planned maintenance to Scottish Natural Heritage’s property portfolio across Scotland.

The firm will provide maintenance work across all estates in Scotland which include around 200 properties varying in size and complexity from corporate offices and visitor centres to deer larders and bird hides. The service will incorporate a condition survey which will be undertaken on each property prior to arranging a competitive tender on the agreed works and implementation.
Work is now underway on all properties with the first phase of condition surveys already complete.

Scottish Natural Heritage has also been in discussions with the Forestry Commission for Scotland to consider sharing resources and maintenance on buildings in selected regions, which will also be brought into the scope of the contract.

The contract was awarded to Knight Frank following a public notice and competitive tender. Doug Garden, partner, Knight Frank has been instrumental in securing the contract. He said: “We are delighted to be selected by Scottish Natural Heritage to advise and assist with its planned maintenance strategy and programme.

“Our experience with Royal Mail stood us in very good stead for this tender as we currently provide a planned maintenance service across the majority of Scotland for the company.

“We look forward to working with Scottish Natural Heritage over the next three years to preserve its diverse property portfolio.”
