Two churches get new heating systems for the coming winter

St. John the Baptist Anglican church in Meols, Wirral was consecrated nearly 100 years ago in 1913. The heating system recently needed replacing. This involved the removal of a large, inefficient boiler, cast iron radiators and pipe work to be replaced by a more modern and economical arrangement. After taking advice from a church consultant heating engineer, the church committee elected HeatinGlobal the church heating company to install the new DRU gas wall heaters.

The existing radiators were replaced with nine DRU Kamara 16 powered flue gas wall heaters in the main church and one DRU Art balanced flue heater in the choir vestry. Kamara heaters are designed for very large, enclosed spaces such as a church building, with high heat outputs, forced air convection and 85% efficiency. Each heater operates at around 50p per hour, so the cost to the church for an average Sunday service is less than £10 in total – a massive saving on the previous system.

Churchwarden David Moss expressed his “delight at the quality of the HeatinGlobal’s workmanship and the courtesy shown to the church personnel during the completion of the contract”

St Matthew's church contacted the church heating specialist with the challenge of making the church warmer and to reduce the current high running cost. Other heating companies had come up with ways to heat the church but non of which with the expertise HeatinGlobal have. The old boiler had no thermostat controls and had in correct pipe sizes every were.

The main church didn’t have enough heat output along with the church heating system needed power flushing and chemical testing. The decision was taken to remove the existing church boiler and install a new wall hung Evo max 120 in the existing church boiler room. Various sections of pipe work was up graded and the whole system was flushed out.

The main church area now had minimum and maximum thermostat controls to enable us to maintain a low level constant temperature in the church. Extra high output radiators was installed in the church to give added boost to the system.

On completion Roger Newman had this to say:

“The church heating system has never been so warm, I didn't think it was possible to get these existing radiators so hot in such a short space of time. We are glad we contacted you to complete the church heating as it shows you and your men know what your talking about. Great job!”
